DC Strings Kicks Off 2019 Messiah Concerts

An annual holiday tradition of DC Strings is performing Handel’s beloved throughout the DMV region. This includes the 3 year of annual concerts in both Anacostia and on Capitol Hill. There are 5 performances scheduled including:

  • Nov. 15: Duke Ellington School of the Arts. Conductor: Andrew Smith

  • Dec. 1: Metropolitan AME. Conductor: Jeri Lynn Johnson

  • Dec. 8: National United Methodist Church: Conductor: Melissa Jean Chavez

  • Dec. 14: Campbell AME: Conductor: Ahmed Alabaca

  • Dec. 15: Lincoln Park United Methodist Church: Conductor: Jeffry Newberger

We are excited for several college and high school students to join us. By sitting with professional musicians, they are able to earn important community service hours and build their confidence in performing as part of an orchestra.
